Scotland on Scramblers – Back on the Road

20160918-scotland-2

It has been a long while since I was last blogging, but I’ve been busy on two wheels during that time.  We celebrated Pau’s birthday at the Yamaha Off Road Experience in Wales (see Pau’s Blog), I’ve been training with the California Superbike School at Silverstone (more on that later), and Pau got hold of a Triumph Street Twin to attend an all-girls weekend in the Brecon Beacons (read about that HERE).

But we haven’t been ‘back on the road’, so to speak, until now.  Teaming up with Motorcycle Explorer Magazine, we are doing a two-week trip around NW Scotland, lightweight style, on two Ducati Scramblers – which will lead to an article and kit review in the next edition of the magazine.

After a long motorway haul from Wiltshire and then continuing into the Highlands yesterday afternoon, initial impressions of the Scrambler are very positive. I’ve long had a belief that this could be the ideal ‘alternative’ overland bike, so I’m excited to see what it can do.  Let’s wait and see.

Wet weather kit at hand, it’s onwards into the mountains.  Much more to follow….
